Its name is of indigenous origin, and its meaning is the voice of gold. He was named this way to describe his incomparable beauty. It was declared the national tree of Venezuela on May 29, 1948. We can find it all over the city (in my case, this tree is in the Urbanization where my mother lives). In the middle of the month February and April it is covered with yellow flowers that cover it for a few days and it is noticeable, since when it is stripped of its leaves it falls like carpets that adorn the surroundings.
We are fortunate to be able to enjoy the beautiful colors that this represents in the streets, parks and squares of Venezuela. It's quite a show.
The Araguaney is native to the troposophilous forests of the Venezuelan plains, although it is found throughout the length and breadth of our Venezuela.
