Buthidaung: Burmese authorities extorted money from Rohingya in different village tracks of Buthidaung Township for planting their own paddies, reports suffering locals today (21st July).
In this cultivation season, remaining Rohingya in Buthidaung Township started to plant their paddy fields. Each year Rohingya plant paddies to secure their rice storage and production for the whole year, which is their main staple food.
In addition to ongoing pressure on Rohingya, Burmese authorities started extorting money from the farmers for cultivating their own lands.
