Hi guys,
I haven't posted anything here for quite a while. We were very busy in the last weeks. Our blog is more and more successful which means more and more work with it as well.
We spend the last six weeks in Central Asia, which was a very eventful and interesting part of our travels. We got invited to attend the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan, which was the first bigger sponsored trip we were part of and a great experience for us.
The Games itself were so cool and interesting! There were so many new things for us to explore. From strange but interesting sports events to amazing nature around the Issy Kul lake and super-rich culture there was so much to see in this week! If you want to read more about the World Nomad Games have a look at one of our latest articles: https://www.travelsofabookpacker.com/blog/world-nomad-games-kyrgyzstan
The amazing mountains in Kyrgyzstan are a hikers paradise! We've seen plenty of gorgeous mountain valleys, crossed snowy peaks and passed by high altitude lakes. There are not many places in the world we came across by now, they can compare with the beauty and remoteness of the Kyrgyz mountains. A must for every mountain lover! Now we are in Uzbekistan the land of tiles :-)
We are very impressed by the stage of development in this former unknown to us country.
Most of the places we've visited have high-quality guest houses and hotels well-preserved tourist attractions and a very advanced high-speed train network.
It is a Muslim country and has been for centuries before the oppression by the Soviet Union, which is visible in every part of the country by the beautiful mosques and impressive madrasses.
Samarkand has the biggest and most impressive architectural sights. Which is truly amazing to see! The tiles and colours reminded us a lot about Iran.
We have some great plans for the next couple of months too before we finally reach New Zealand. We'll fly from Tashkent to Singapore and explore Malaysia a bit before we have a couple of weeks each in Borneo and the Philippines.
From there we'll fly to Australia and have a look around Sydney and Melbourne before we finally get to Wellington.
So, be excited for more interesting posts in the coming weeks!
