'An example of The Venetian Window' at Gunnersbury House, London
Built by the architect John Webb (1611-72), who learnt his skills from Inigo Jones, Gunnersbury House is an example of Palladian architecture. This style was based on Venetian architecture.
'The Venetian Window' is a feature of this style. You can see one in my photo. It has a central window light, with a semi-circle shaped arch above it. There are two pilasters, one either side, supporting the small overhanging roof.
