For you to know, it is actually not a temple, but the ruins of an empire. Therefore, Ratu Boko Temple is often called Kraton Ratu Boko. Called Kraton Boko, because according to the legend of the site is the palace of Queen Boko, Father Lara Jonggrang. It is thought that the site of Queen Boko was built in the 8th century by the Buddhist Buddhist Syailendra, but was later taken over by Hindu Mataram kings.
