This is the Marcelo Fernan Bridge located in Cebu, Philippines. The bridge connects Mandaue City to Lapu-Lapu City in Mactan Island.
The bridge has a 1.6 miles (or 2.6 kilometers) from the north end of the bridge. It was constructed in order to decongest the traffic from the older Mactan–Mandaue Bridge. But with the increasing population in Lapu-Lapu City and its neighboring cities still the volume of traffic continues.
The bridge has a total length of 1237 meters (4058.40 feet) with a center span of 185 meters (606.96 feet), and was completed in August of 1999.
And it is named after the late Chief Justice and Senator Marcelo Fernan, a political figure from Cebu City.
My wife and I went to the bridge to catch for the sunset together with our eldest. Just below the bridge is a family park where one could jog and hike. It is usually packed during weekends. My place is just a walking distance from the bridge so during weekends and whenever time allows we just strolled our way in to this place to have some fresh air and picture taking.
And here it is.
Thanks for dropping by.
God bless.
