Galleria Naples • Architectural Photography
I photographed the dome of the Galleria Umberto I when I was in Naples, Italy. The Galleria's glass and iron dome was constructed at the end of the 19th Century. The iron struts employed here look similar to the technology used in the construction of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The dome was created to cover one of the world's first indoor shopping mall which is still operational today. If you are ever in Naples its a must see and I'm sure you will agree that its more elegant than any shopping mall on this side of the Atlantic.
I shot the dome with my iPhone 6S Plus.
Thanks for the art ... minnows, dolphins, whales... I’m down with squid!
