The Cube is one of the latest modern developments in Birmingham city centre. The building process began before the UK's recession period and finished in 2010. There were rumours circling about the management running into the financial problems during that time and leaving those who bought the flats with unfinished properties. However, the speculations ended as soon as they began and nowadays the Cube stands proudly, adding its charm to the cityscape.

Last Sunday, we came to the city for a walk and left the car near the Five Ways. We were heading towards the Mailbox for a canal walk. The first two images were taken during that walk.

When we reached the Commercial Street, there was an entry into the Cube and the initial idea to go around got scrapped! It was the first time we were inside the building! I have always thought that it is a residential building and never stepped my foot inside. Boy, I was wrong! The Cube is a mix of residential, cultural and commercial uses. There are even public toilet facilities in the building! And the interior is not to be missed! I wish I could share my images with you, unfortunately, there is a policy in place for that and I am trying to reach someone to get permission!
Inside the building, there are restaurants, hotel, spa & gym! Have you ever heard of Marco Pierre White?! Well, for those who haven't, the guy is a well known British celebrity chef and also a TV personality. According to Wikipedia, he was the youngest to get three Michelin stars! Well, the Cube actually is the location of his fine dining restaurant!

Apart from seeing an amazing architectural interior, we have also enjoyed the series of sculptures of the humans with big hearts instead of heads in and around the Cube! So if you are in Birmingham, consider visiting this urban building! You won't be dissapointed!
