Sorry about making that mistake.
I saw your picture and wondered where it was taken. Wikipedia is generally good about listing historical buildings.
Wikipedia lists multiple buildings called the "papal palace." I looked at pictures Wikipedia had for each of the palace. I thought it looked most like the one in Avignon which they described as Gothic.
My second guess is the "Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo" in Rome followed by "Palazzo dei Papi di Viterbo." The Papal Palace in Orvieto looks too small and boxy.
If this picture is not the palace in Avignon. Where is it from?
