After 15 years, I am visiting the Barbican Centre again. I have always loved this beautiful piece of brutalist architecture.
The Barbican Centre was built in the 60's to bring back residential life in central London after the bombings of WW2. It is a large complex of concrete buildings facing each other to form a sort of enclosed community.
I love how the cold concrete towers co-exist with gardens and water features as well as the openness of the passageways and terraces linking all those buildings
In addition to residential flats it also includes an amazing arts Centre which was inaugurated by the Queen in 1982
The Barbican Centre is such a statement architectural piece, you cannot miss it if you go to London
