Lumishell is a prefabricated housing module, which is installed in the countryside to accommodate urban breaks.
While curving, its design encourages a total immersion in the landscape, in a perfect indoor / outdoor fluidity. This module was born from the meeting between Christophe Benichou, architect and engineer experimenting various forms of sensory architectures, and Lumicene, company developing a concept of curved sliding joinery of the same name. The result of this collaboration is this habitat of reduced dimensions whose plan is polarized by two Lumicene: one for the stay and the other for the room. These two spaces benefit from an exceptional panoramic view and can be transformed into outdoor spaces by a simple manipulation of the bays, generating the astonishing impression to be transported, with the furniture, in the heart of the big spaces. The combined reflections of these bays and various mirrors end up spreading the landscape deep into the habitat and complement the immersive effect of this experience. The set is wrapped in an aluminum skin.
Alone in the vast landscape, the Lumishell acts as a protective cocoon in the immensity. It, the Lumishell settles in the Salar of Uyuni, lunar and majestic desert of Bolivian salt, like a shell waiting for the return of the high tide.
