i’m determined to learn a bunch of new stuff in 2022, mainly donut economies, internet of things connected devices and a bunch of up and coming protocols and platforms, one of those that keeps on popping up on my radar is argent.xyz especially now that zksnarks is bolted in there for lower fees.
i stepped through this morning to deposit some funds into that wallet, we have two wallet options of ETH and zkSync — both allow to have funds added via card or bank transfer, ethereal wallet (like a metamask or hardware wallet) or from an existing zkSync account — overall, a simple process.
I stepped through using a british bank account and card and it worked flawlessly. They appear to be using a service called ramp.network and i was pleased to see that the price you are quoted is the price you pay, rare to see and something that those new to crypto would want to be presented with — it was very clean and the payment was to “Ramp Swap Limited”
having recently raised $53m in Series A it seems that they are around for the long haul — it seems incredibly easy to purchase crypto in this manner, i’ve had equal success with similar platforms like uphold — hard to believe we have these polished services finally to get FIAT into CRYPTO so we can enable our digital expressions of ourselves in the metaverse.
Ramp Swaps is registered as a cryptoasset business by the UK Financial Conduct Authority for crypto activity. Ramp Link is supervised by Polish Financial Supervision authority for the open banking activity (fully compliant!)
another nice feature (probably one reason for the implementation of zKsnarks and the low fees defi need) is the ability to see your NFT gallery — https://teamhumble.argent.xyz/gallery — it’s powered by opensea but you can see the “angles” that they are playing to get this crypto revolution going.
it makes a lot more sense to the general public that they are collecting digital versions of collectables that might go up in price but don’t require you to hold the physical objects in the meatspace life. Of course, it’s a good off ramp for people to put money into and they make a little cut off the top to provide the service but i found the fees more than manageable!
I suggest you top up with a reasonable amount (£100+) to make it fast otherwise you might be waiting a few days for your transaction to happen in a reasonable time — what i mean by that is don’t leave it to the last minute to pick up that brand new minted project NFT, be a little prepared!
I should add as well, if you wanna be safe and secure with your cryptos (maybe preparing for a crash and the bear market) you can get 9.93% on a Dai Stablecoin with them as well, also USDC — i really like to see that they are using platform partners like Yearn, Lido and Pro for Staking and Yield Optimizations, stuff i’m still learning a lot about! (so many projects!)
