What to do when people around or with you are fighting, panicking, stressed, or otherwise spiraling into negativity and trying to draw you in?
Unless they are a serious threat to you or each other mentally or physically in the moment, I would recommend still receptive nonreaction. Remain present and aware, listen and pay attention but don't react. Absorb and transmute as much of their negativity into your own stillness, presence, and peace as you can. Make lots of eye contact. Project love and light and awareness through every cell of your vessel.
Eventually, the storm breaks on the rock of your stillness, or the vortex of their darkness absorbs too much light and love to keep spinning negativity.
I hate when my family fights and argues but there's incredible strength and benefits in handling other's emotional storms this way.
Eckhart Tolle writes about this method of handling other's "pain body" attacks as he calls them and I love it. So strong, so effective, this is real practical magic and alchemy we can all use.
Not as a way to win or feel powerful, but for saving people from negativity and pain. Including ourselves. I often have trouble not letting my ego pat itself on the back when it works though, so watch for that too. And some truly sick and lost people will escalate to dangerous levels if their ego is strong enough or there's something personal at stake, so be prepared to react if things become truly immediately dangerous, but only then and as minimally and lovingly as possible.
May any merit generated by my words and advice be for the benefit of all beings. Namaste! πβ―β€πβ€βΎπ π
