I grew up in High Corrie on the Isle of Arran, southwest Scotland.
It was - and is - a wild and clean and unencumbered kind of a place.
Growing up there gave me a deep, immersive education in nature - in systems of ecology that are rich and abundant, and in how life is inherently harmonious, if we listen.
I learned about complex generosity in living so close to nature: the codependency of layers and overlapping of elements. I learned too about the magic and mystery of the universe.
I was close to spirits and other-worldly beings, and even travelled far away (to another planet or to the future - it was hard to tell at the time) where my 'real' people lived. Then I came back, to do my work in this lifetime, on this place.
Living far from home now, I am always dreaming of the best aspects of where I grew up: seeking that wild and clean place, unpolluted and uncontrived... I have found many elements of it in rural Molise, Italy, where I currently live and work...
