Hello everyone, i'm one of the speakers for Hues and H20 tomorrow at TEAmbayan Cafe and I will be teaching the basics in watercolor painting up to painting a portrait.
Genesis Anacay Aala, also known as Gini, is an electronics engineer and a visual artist based in Cavite. She focuses on painting small animals such as frogs and turtles as part of her advocacy on saving the environment. Her works explores the ephemeral nature of the mind and environmental awareness using “Kulay Kahoy” (shades of brown and earth colors) pallet and a touch of Baybayin script. Her previous art focuses on interpreting the eyes and facial expressions of women using watercolor, graphite and ink. She also does abstract paintings showing nature and cosmic scenes with metallic accent and geometrical figures. She is highly influenced by her father, a landscape artist.
She also initiated an art group movement called Creative Street with an advocacy of sharing art lessons and skills to the Filipino youth especially the underprivileged children. Their first art workshop started last May 16, 2018 and is still continuing their movement.
