I continue to learn to draw and use the book by Arthur Gaptill “Rendering in Pen and Ink”.
The sixth chapter of the book is dedicated to outline and how to work with it. You can draw an outline with a line of constant width, change the width of the line, interrupt the line. You can combine these methods with each other, but you need to remember that the key points (break points of the form) must be drawn.
In this lesson I work on the objects that surround me. I think it is easy to identify the object according to my sketch. What do you think?
The seventh chapter - and the time to talk about light and shade. The most important thing to understand is that on a sheet of light paper we build a shadow from dark to light, and on a dark one - on the contrary. Why? Because darker than black on white paper we can’t do - it should be the darkest place. Similarly with full-length paper - if the shadow is made white ... then where will the light be?
We must remember that all the objects that surround us are the same cylinders, balls, cubes and cones. Any item can be decomposed into these components. Therefore, it is enough to understand how light and shadow are located on them. And then - a matter of practice!
I also changed my tools and will draw with a inkpen.
And how are you doing? Draw a theme with light and shadow?
All my paintings can be bought for sbd/steem
Thank you for watching!
P.S. It is hard to write in English, because my native language is Russian. But I'm learning. If you notice serious errors in the text that interfere with the correct perception, please let me know about them.
