Hey SteemFam!
I wanna share with you, a poem that I wrote when I was fourteen.
This is the first successful piece I had ever written. My previous attempts at writing was meh but this one seemed to do well... I hope you enjoy it.
Please be kind... I was only fourteen when I wrote this... LOL
AFRO CLOWN
Afro clown, is the only clown
Who never smiles, but always frowns.
He looks quite funny, I do agree,
For his hair is orange and his trousers are green.
You can tell him once, or even twice
But no matter what you tell him, he never smiles.
The sun may shine, the sky quite clear,
But when you look into his eyes, you'll see a tear.
As if he really wanted to smile,
But can't 'coz he says he won't look nice.
One day I met him on the streets,
We bumped into each other and I landed on his feet.
To my surprise he smiled at me,
And lo and behold - he had five missing teeth.
I was surprised for it hadn't occurred to me,
That this could be why he chose to be so bleak.
I then asked him if that was the reason,
The reason he wouldn't smile through all seasons.
Then he looked at me, in his eyes a tear,
And answered me saying, "Yes, my dear."
I looked at him, with pity filled eyes,
And said that it was okay to smile.
If he was really bothered about his five missing teeth,
He could have them replaced with artificial teeth
'Coz it wasn't nice to be called,
'The clown who never smiled, but always frowned.'
