Hello my Steemit friends and welcome back to my art blog! Today's black paper drawing was inspired by an ancient shape that has been seen as culturally significant for several thousand years. The Spiral!
Not only has it existed in some of my favorite groups of people like the Aborigines but also for people like the Anasazi in Arizona like in the picture below.
In nature, spirals are found more commonly than people think. People who study the Fibonacci sequence know that it can create a spiral just using the mathematics behind it.
This only makes me appreciate humanity more since it shows we are even more alike than we think! Our minds our built in such similar ways that we make such similar images when creating art. Fascinating.
