As ancient as light - watercolors on paper
Hello, dear Hivers friends, and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a very special landscape because the main subject is an ancient 12th-century monastery built on the rocks of a small island in the Tremiti archipelago.
In addition to the wild and abandoned appearance of the old building, which was built by Cistercian monks, I wanted to highlight the sunlight that colors the rocks and stones, blending them into a warm interplay.
I tried to depict a landscape marked by the colors of sunset, where warm shadows emerge and, at the same time, the soft light of the sea below.

Antico come la luce - acquarelli su carta
Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido un paesaggio molto particolare perchè il soggetto principale è un antico monastero del 12 secolo costrutio sulle rocce di una piccola isola nelle Tremiti.
Oltre all'aspetto selvaggio e abbandonato del vecchio edifico, tra l'altro costruito dai monaci cistercensi, ho voluto evidenziare la luce del sole che colora rocce e pietre fondendoli in un gioco caldo.
Ho cercato di raffigurare un paesaggio all'insegna dei colori del tramonto dove emergono ombre calde e allo stesso tempo la luce soffusa del mare sottostante.
