A series of sketches I drew for a dear friend. The story outlines a boy who is abducted by an alien, and who subsequently transcends the physical self and the ego to become a Star Child. These sketches will form the basis of a series of larger paintings at some point.
As a child, I dreamed of one day traveling to the stars. I'd stare at the night sky, my mind reeling with the notion of a universe teeming with life. If only it weren't so vast, perhaps we could connect. As I get older, I realize that we do connect. We connect by being aware of ourselves, and of the people around us. That is to say, our mind is the most powerful thing we share, and it is part of a greater, universal whole.
There's a lot more to the stories of alien abduction than what the mainstream media tells us. The phenomenon may go beyond the physical to the very fabric of consciousness itself. Fairies, elves, grey aliens, owls, all of these things border on the edges of the mind, and are all part of the same phenomenon.
