Lately, when I can, I try to duck into the office and quickly have a play with my new inks for my sanity.
Art has always been my way of recharging and rebalancing myself. Colours are especially therapeutic and I often use them to activate or charge my chakras.
With my free time being very limited I'm finding myself loving my inks more and more because of the quick, almost mess free way they enable me to get my art on.
Tonight, while Hubby spent time with Bella, I snuck away for a few minutes.
Calming blues and greens were on my mind lately and I wanted to try a new technique with the gold mixative.
In previous trials I opted to mix the gold with alcohol on it's own and then blew on it to spread it out. This time around, I placed 1 drop of gold on top of 1 drop of pebble on a pool of alcohol and blew that out. That was also the first layer of ink I put on the tile.
I then added the other colours around the gold & pebble layer, often allowing the alcohol to mix with the gold layer so that it would take hints of the gold mica to the other colour layers.
Here's an edited version of the alcohol painting including my new watermark.
I love love LOVE alcohol inks!
It has such a beautiful way about it. The colours are so clear and vivid, yet it has that ability to look ethereal and otherworldly with little effort.
Although I'm not 100% happy with the composition, I do really love the colours and how calm and peaceful they make me feel. The edit is giving me a "art print" vibe thus the new on hive watermark (which will probably be reworked when I have more time.)
What do you guys think? What colours would you like to see next?
