More and more, I find myself using these inks to regain emotional balance.
They're quick and easy to use and fits in nicely in the 30 minutes (max) of free time I have to myself at night before bed.
It's been a very welcomed outlet for me and being able to heal myself through colours, I feel has been a great help.
I suffered from post partum depression with my first daughter 19 years ago and it took a very long time to recover from it. It haunted me for so long and I think that's one of the reasons why it took me so long to want to have another baby.
This time around is so different though.
I'm older, a bit wiser, I have a wonderful partner who is aware of my history and is so supportive towards myself and Bella, and I have heaps of coping mechanisms.
It was a particularly stressful day with a cranky baby way past her nap time thus the blue and greens.
Something about these colours that never fail to force a deep breath in and lower blood pressure.
Technically, I should have just left it and not tried anything fancy. (See the series of pearl blue dots in the gif? 👆)
Artistically the piece is giving off a "silver lining" vibe. That despite less than favourable days peace can still be regained.
