This is close to what one of our trees in the back yard looked like.
Everyone calls it sun-scald damage, but its on the north side of the tree so figure that one out!
The tree itself is still fairly healthy and provides great morning and noon time shade for the house so we didn't want to just cut it down.
However it is very unsightly and we decided to do something about it.
It didn't take long for my wife's imagination to take over and come up with something simple yet aesthetically pleasing and even entertaining and fun.
The Keebler Elf House!
We used some extra wood we had laying around left over paint, trim, old cabinet hinges and pull from various projects around the house. OH! and some rocks from the drive way.
She used spray foam for the final seal around the door and some moss for decoration.
It took two days only because of the glue/paint dry time.
If you can paint and cut a board you can do this simple and fun project.
Thank You!
