Freudenthal & Verhagen are a Dutch duo who’ve been working as a photographic and creative team for over 20 years. Both Carmen Freudenthal (photographer) and Elle Verhagen (stylist) graduated from Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 1988 and began working together shortly after.
Since, then, this provocative pair have developed a shamelessly edgy style. Some of their diverse projects from 2008 included a commission for CitizenM Schiphol Airport, a montage of photos of objects from the airport’s lost and found service point; a fashion editorial in Dazed and Confused Magazine for the House of Viktor & Rolf; and an ad campaign for Ursus Roter drink mixes.
