My father was a general manager at the Italian National Olympic Committee, a governmental body overseeing all sports activities in Italy. During his long professional life, he met lots of interesting people, including a very famous Italian painter named Renato Guttuso.
Guttuso was very fond of sports, authoring several paintings to pay tribute to sports and competition.
My father, in turn, in order to pay tribute to Guttuso, made a series of bronze plaques inspired by Guttuso´s art. Here are some of them:
