Hello and welcome to this evening's edition of Coffee After Midnight. We all know the best ideas come when you mix caffeine and lack of sleep, so why not put it to good use?
Tonight's bright idea was to use MidJourney for a little culture jamming. Sounds simple enough, right? Being a bit fuzzy on the 'how' aspect of this seemed to call for the tried and occasionally true method of fucking around until you figure it out.
Bit too on the nose for present purposes.. If we're going to force machines to learn about us it only seems fair that they get to have a little fun at our expense too.
Never quite managed to get anything that'd qualify as culture jamming, more just disconcerting. To quote the 10 Commandments, "Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable," so that's at least a step in the right direction.
In a way AI art is just like going to an art gallery. You have no clue what the fuck is going on or why in half the stuff you look at but with AI there's no possible chance of an explanation. It's kinda beautiful.
Coffee's gone and sleep is calling, so that's all for this edition of Coffee After Midnight. Anyone got thoughts or ideas on culture jamming or using AI for it?
