Recently I visited the Musée Picasso/Picasso Museum in Antibes, Côte d'Azur. I love almost all kinds of art and like to visit all types of museums. Although I’m not really a big fan of modern art, I decided to visit the Picasso museum anyway.
Like most modern art museums, the building itself (formerly the Château Grimaldi) is very nice and is perched on a seaside hill overlooking the blue waters of the French Riviera.
Upon visiting the museum I really did try to behave myself, but my unruly inner child rebelled and this was captured in photos of my instinctual, uninhibited, intuitive reactions and spontaneous interpretations of the “artworks” I was confronted with.
I guess I’m just spoiled to be around so many greatly skilled and talented artists in my daily life that it’s hard for me to take this type of art seriously, although I do know that Picasso was indeed a skilled artist as is shown in his earlier work.
Chacun à son goût!
(Not all art pictured is by Picasso. The museum also contains works by Max Ernst, Miró etc.)
