For the past 5 years, my parents have blessed 1 & 2, by paying for summer art camp!
The owners of The Nolin River Art Studio, Regina and Gary, are fantastic people and extremely talented artists!
Each summer they offer multiple weeks, of 4 day art camp. Morning groups and afternoon groups.
Each year the children learn about a different artist and create an art piece inspired by that artists work. The art is created by a multitude of materials. Often "junk", like buttons, trinkets, springs, sockets, coils, random dishes, silverware, jewelry, gadgets, jars, cans, lids, etc, etc!

This year they made African masks!
African Mask inspired by Romuald Hazoume, born 1962. He is an artist from the Republic of Benin. He is known for his mask series he started in mid-1980’s. His masks were made from discarded gasoline canisters.

The girls had a blast, as they do each year! And can't wait to enter their projects in the State Fair this summer!

Fun fact: The photographer for camp, is a friend of Regina & Gary. She helps out each year, and happens to have been our wedding photographer 10 years ago!
