River Landscape
I really love the paintings of Jan Bruegel, a Dutch artist, who lived from 1568 to 1625. His name doesn't spring to the mind of everyone when thinking of landscape painters, but I think his work is fresh and delicate.
I like the way he used light and shade to give his paintings depth.

Figures Beside a River
I wish I could paint water reflections as well as Bruegel. Most of his paintings feature water. They have a beautiful brightness to them.

Bruegel also included small, busy figures in his artwork. It is interesting for anyone interested in period costumes and activities.
Do you like Bruegel's work? Have you ever seen his work in person?
