I tried. Maybe not my best. But certainly not my worst. I like the concept, I’m just not sure it came out quite as I hoped. I will say the more I look the more I’m ok with it. The figure isn’t awful. Even the hair is pretty good. What say ye?
I painted another similar work this year and honestly it's terrible. You'll see it eventually. It seems ability is like a lot of things in life, waxing and waning.
I believe this is one of the first nude figures I ever posted on social media. There was a lot of stigma around nudity growing up in my household. I wasn't sure what my family would think. There is still a lot of stigma in the circles I frequent. I am not entirely sure what my friends think either. I still feel slight embarrassment when I post nudes, though I am way closer to "F*** it" then I was back then.
On second thought, my mom might have actually "liked" this when I posted it. Maybe the stigma has waned, as has my talent.
I'm posting every painting I have ever done from 2014 to the present, the good, the bad, and the ugly. With an occasional photograph and sketch thrown in just to mix things up. Check back daily to see my progressio as an "artist"!
