In the moments out of inspiration sometimes I am browsing the folder of my own commercial illustrations done for different cases. Usually it works right away. I am feeling about some of my creations as if it was done by real genius thinking Wow! Is it really me who done this? No way!. I am sorry, you may not think same and it is okay. I don't mind. Someone may dislike my works but those are inspiring to me and it's a great way to boost yourself in such a moments. I am not saying it's ideal and I would appreciate any good logical critique if you have anything to say let me know. Maybe it will help me to grow professionally.
I am still weak laying in bed today. Missed my train to Moscow this morning because of traffic. We had icy roads in the morning. It is still okay I can come later because our Art of Living Sri Sri Yoga 2 course starts only tomorrow evening.
So seeking for inspiration I've found this order from the Toy Factory. I've done few design concepts for their experimental department. They've ordered few cats and foxes in Fil Dunsky style. This is really inspiring to get such a tasks. When you've being asked just to create your own toys in your own style. Imagine how would they look in your own world?
Sketches
I've done lots of different variants with pen and paper to see how that toys could work. Ofcourse I was showing these sketches to my client to check it with them. They know some technological details and nuances which I was not aware of while creating.
As you can see they've asked me to search for some cats, bears, foxes and penguins. Actually they've asked me first which animal toys do I prefer more and then I've got a list of popular ones. Together we've desided to stop on cats and foxes only for now.
Then I've finished the coloring they've asked me to come to the factory department in Moscow to see some real produced toys and check eyes and furs materials. After our meeting these toy designs had been accompained by my explanation texts and sent to Chinese factory to create few real prototypes.
They've promised to get back to me after that stage but both the girls with whom I was working resigned from that job so I've missed the contact with that factory and never seen my toys being produced or not. Who knows, maybe in future I will be surprised...
So I am inspired to create something new and tomorrow I will spend 4 hours in the train to Moscow. Hope to draw a portrait there. I've got a commission form one guy who won my Portrait Giveaway contest. I've done an avatar for him and he liked it a lot. Later he asked me to draw his friend and already payed the order so I have to do it as soon as possible.
