The time has passed so fast, that i do not really know how i what exactly i did through the years to get where i am now. It has been an automatic change in a way, because you just keep working daily and the results are coming daily! I have never been sitting and doing nothing for a week and then in the weekend i got major success or progress, development. It does not work that way. You have to put in the work every day, even if it is small thing, because sometimes that is the most important thing. Which is why you have to do it all.
Here are two Lion drawings i have done. In 2012 i was still in the last year of high school. I was drawing portraits for a couple of years, and then i started to work with charcoal. I started with graphite years earlier but around 2012 i started to work with charcoal. That was one of my first drawings with it. At that time i was proud of it. But i never stopped. Looking at the Lion i did last year, and which was sold month ago in my very first exhibition in a long time, i can see for myself the time and the passion i do have for art. And for charcoal period. It has been something people can recognize me for. I mastered it, at least i think so, and i hope i have done good. Looking at these works now, like this, it seems like it. It seems that the work payed off, because after each work i truly learned, i was looking, taking notes, sketching, and trying to eliminate every mistake i did in the previous drawing. Taking every work later and breaking it down in parts and just digging in deep for mistakes, for a lack of patience, skill. Anything that can change the end result.
Now i want to prove that you can draw. You can if you are passionate enough, but you really have to be.
Art is not always something that will pay you big money. For me now, it is not that way too. I have to work aside other job to pay my bills. I have exhibitions, commissions, works done in a world class level but still it is not enough for me to do this as the only thing i in a day. It hurts for me personally, but i sleep only 5 hours a day, a read books, and i work hard, to be better at drawing, to develop. I have been fortunate enough to post here and earn a couple of bucks from people and the community that really values hard working people. That is what i want to suggest anyone. Whatever you are passionate about, you can do it, and never give in, just love the thing you do and keep doing it, despite of the money, motivation, criticism!
