Imagination for me is more than just making stuff up that does not even exist or never will. I think that the whole crypto world itself cane from an imagination. Aswell as many many other brilliant things we got nowadays. You can not create something new if you do not think outside of the box. We can call it i think even as a some kind of a skill. Someone is better at it but someone is not.
I think that there are couple of ways how you can improve your imagination skills. I can speak only from my experience and what simply worked for me. It may not work for others but maybe it will.
I myself stopped watching TV ever since i finished school. It is a good way how to relax for sure but it certainly does not help you to develop your imagination. It also depends on what exactly you are watching. But if you over-do it with only entertainment,then it gives you no benefit in a long term. That is where your laptop can be usefull or your phone for that matter. Try to watch more of a creative films. Some independent projects which are challenging the standarts. Anything thag is in some way different from the average persons opinion.
Basically you have to get new information,new sources which therefore will make your mind to think about that information and process it all through your thoughts.
