Good day dear Hive community, I hope you are all well and you had a day full of positive experiences! Today I would like to discuss a historical topic and hope you are able to expand your knowledge a little.
Here you can see some pictures of silver, rock salt and a coal mine wagon and I would like to go into the connection of the Habsburg dynasty, which has risen to one of the most influential dynasties in Europe. For the growth of this dynasty, mining was very important and they quickly realized what a huge potential mining has and decided to invest many resources into it and in Europe, mining between the 15th and 16th century experienced its most important time and the mining of various ores has also helped the Habsburgs to a large part of their influence. One of the most important mines at that time was Schwaz which is located in Austria in the Tyrol region and in Schwaz silver was cultivated particularly frequently and during the heyday this mine was responsible for a large part of the silver in Europe and the Habsburgs also had many workers there who mined the ore. In total, thousands of miners were employed here and in addition to silver, a lot of copper was also mined in Schwaz and the whole area developed into one of the largest metropolises of the Habsburg Empire and well-known promoters of the mining of the dynasty were Maximilian I. (1459 - 1519) and Charles V. (1500 - 1558). Many of the mined metals were important to generate capital to finance the wars to make the empire grow more and at that time silver was an important currency and who dominated a large part of it like the Habsburgs also had a great influence on the financial system. Due to the fact that the dynasty itself was involved in the mining of copper and other materials and did not have to buy it, they also had a strategic advantage when it comes to the production of weapons or armor and a large part ended up with the blacksmiths who were responsible for the production of armor. At that time, mining flourished so enormously that there were also other dynasties that played an important role and in Schwaz were also the dynasty Fugger and engaged in mining there and if you want to learn more about the fugger family, you will find a contribution from me here. The Habsburgs managed to build a large market and in addition to ore, one of the most important goods was also salt and this was also mined in special salt mines and sold through traders. The Habsburgs had mines everywhere in their empire and the most important were in Carinthia, Tyrol, Styria and many more and through the large network of different mining areas as well as important trade routes, this dynasty managed to get a lot of power with the help of mining.
