Making art is about dealing with contradictions.
I found these illustration cards that I made for a comic about social disintegration in my art boxes.
I decided to reuse them to make handmade business cards.
It's been ages since I've made a business card for myself. It was a tactic to share my artistic position about refusing the idea of art as a profession, and claiming to be an "amateur" rather than a "professional". A way to imagine how to be autonomous from the market.
My practice embraces contradictions. Its coherence lies in the way I persevere in making these contradictions visible.
Today I want a business card.
I choose an aesthetics that is amateurish, crafty, handmade... post-digital? (Here is my first hyperlink and how to do it. I know you know how to do it. But as a dilettante creative technologist, I love to share basics.)
