While I am still thinking of something relatively informational to post (I commend big sis for actually coming up with stuff to post everyday haha), I'll be posting drawings I did from a few years back.
This is entitled, "Team 7 - Smile."
Drawn in December 2014, it was a response to the ending of the phenomenal Japanese manga, Naruto. It was originally a traditional drawing (November 2014) that I converted to digital a month later. I was so heartbroken by Naruto's ending that I just had to draw. I was literally crying drawing this.
Naruto manga was run for more than a decade that it spanned my whole childhood. And drawing this? It was like drawing my childhood into one piece. (Er, no pun intended... if you get what I mean.)
No one is too old to cry, especially when it involves the ending of something that definitely defined his/her childhood.
I literally grew up alongside Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and the rest of the Konoha 11. Drawing Team 7 - Smile, with Naruto as Hokage, Sasuke and Sakura married, and Kakashi still their sensei, felt like letting go of them finally. (I couldn't even begin to watch Boruto, the second-generation Naruto.)
I drew Naruto fanarts so many times that I remember drawing Team 7 even without reference. I grew up with Naruto and the anime OST I loved so much that my roommate and I used to search guitar chords over the internet and sing to them (we were crazy, and our other roommates couldn't do anything about it haha). I don't think no other anime or manga could ever replace Naruto in my heart. Not even Sailor Moon. Or Slam Dunk. Or Yu Yu Hakusho.
I learned to read hiragana and katakana because of Naruto, too! What a big influence it brought to my life.
