How many lives will be lost to the violence of limited thinking?
The quote is mine. The image source is here.
Anti-__________ and __________ism is -- literally -- killing us.
Everyone's a butcher, it seems, with axes in wild hands:
"Chop, chop! Off with your useless head!"
We all seem to take turns, dicing each other up.
What is the satisfaction in that blood-sport?
I grieve for the recently lost and wounded lives in Pittsburgh.
Wherever our edge may be, there's more. So it's a good idea to stay open...
...for the parts we don't yet know.
It's silly to think we know everything, about anything.
I'm very visual. (Are you, too? If not, what's your dominant sense?)
So I always see things in random patterns.
Like this tile on the livingroom floor:
Do you see a face there?
I did.
And I'm no drawer, but tried anyway,
and came out with this one-eyed, peanut-head:
It is my self-authorized permission slip to simply start.
I have always wanted to do more with image. And color. Visual art.
Because just words can't do it all.
I accept that part of me --
and all parts, really.
I knowtice more room and space
has become available to accept others.
And that seems to be a good first step toward not shooting them.
