This is a super girly 3d designed lip balm container. I run out of lip balm, so I decided to make new homemade lip balm. I was thinking about strawberry lip balm, so this 3D XO LIPS lip balm container would match very well.
I didn't 3D design for a long time, so I forgot how to do certain things like adding internal/external threads to cylindrical geometry and making an embossed text on a cylinder. Especially for the fact that I am getting older, I forget things easily. So it took a while before I figured it out.
I sketched a circle of 60 mm and offset it two times with 3 mm.
Then I extruded the entire circle.
This body is the container itself. I extruded the inner circle with operation Cut (12 mm) and extruded the middle circle with operation Join for the external thread. Then I extruded the same entire circle for the lid on top.
Here I created an external and internal thread to the container and lid.
I gave the surface of the lid a sort of frame. So I offset it with 3mm and extrude it up with 1.5 mm. The edges were still rough, so I added fillets to the round edges.
For the lips I googled an image. By clicking on Select > Attach Canvas I imported the image. Later on I traced the lips with Spline and extruded it with 1.5 mm.
I added the text XOXO to the sketch and extruded it. Then I extruded it again selecting Extend "To Object". After that I moved the text to the container inside with 1 mm. Later on, I created an embossed XOXO text on the cylinder by selecting the Combine > Cut function.
The text XOXO I embossed in total 8 times on the container and lid.
The lip balm container is 6 cm so I am not sure if I will print it out this size. Maybe I will scale it a bit smaller.
