Hello dear Friends ! Today I would like to present you French Landscape painter Charles-Francois Daubigny ( 1817 – 1878 ), one of the painters of the Barbizon school. Daubigny painted calm, domestic landscapes, especially along the waterways of France. His study of gradueted reflections of light and the broader brushwork of his later years link him with Impressionism.

Daubigny earned his living for a time with book illustrations, but in 1848 had his first success in the Salon with five landscapes from the Morvan district. His reputation was established and he even received commissions for landscapes, which was most unusual at the time.
