"Imagining the Sublime" collection was the first painting collection that I created in South Florida. I was very interested to capture a peaceful feeling and space on the canvas.. I used acrylic paintings and white gesso to achieve the degradation of colors (when the purple slowly turns into green and the green slowly turns into the white, etc); I also used different shapes and sizes of brushes to create the landscape and water designs.
The picture that you see above is called "Waters in Blue". It measures 64" x 54" and is an acrylic on canvas. The original is currently on exhibit at the lobby of the Atlantic Hotel and Spa here in South Florida.
To some people this painting brings them ideas of snowcap mountains. Others has suggested that it resembles the style of the Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. This is one of his artworks, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa".
Another of the paintings from this collection is "Imagining the Sublime. I painted it on the floor, as you can see in the picture. This one measures 66" x 54" and has been exhibited in art galleries here in South Florida.
This painting was exhibited in October 2017 with eight other paintings from the collection. Below you can see the other pieces: "Sublime Heavens" (66" x 54"), "Sublime Roots" (66" x 54") and "Inner Heavens" (60" x 54"). The medium is acrylic on canvas.
