4x4 inches
Gooday Steemit, I spent a fair amount of time working on this last night so i could share it with you guys.
Supplies: sketchbook/piece of paper preferably artist grade paper , hot pressed watercolor paper or design paper.
Crow quill or something to ink with (micron/brush pen so on, but if you want your lines to have this look u'll have to try a crow quill)
(Black ink preferably liquid acrylic, but you can use sumi or Indians ink.
In the last session I picked peach as my main color so this time around I'm going to go with an off yellow, (When using pale colors with dark black contrast we get a look that imitates black and white.
This time for the sketch I've chosen skulls for the main form, but almost everything else will be patterning built up from the content of the sketch.
Notice how I'm just drawing in big forms and shapes.
Typically we like to work from the simple to complex, and this also works for doodling.
I've grabbed my crow quill and started inking, I'm going to try to keep my line width varied
At this stage I have some detail worked out so I drew a big form down the diagonal to break the main form up.
I wanted to give the illusion this form was in space and not flat on the page, so i added some wood to the foreground.
At this stage everything is outlined, but for anything too look good in black and white you need variation and juxtaposition with the light and dark values. now I'm gonna have to think carefully about how I fill in these shapes.

Here's what that detailing looks like close up.
Working my way down the form.
now i can fill in the backdrop.
