Upon learning that a group of owl's are referred to as a parliament, I wanted to use it as a reference somehow.
It was the subtle inspiration in my last post, Nocte Ineptia, where I used the words
Night's parliament begins.
After posting I scratched out this drawing of a session of parliament.
For me the idea of A government of owl's conjures images of the Westminster system of government.
Old men in silly white wigs arguing like private school boys.
The old boys who didn't want to give up their spot on the school debating team.
Privileged and out of touch sitting on the back bench in parliament waiting for their fat six figure pensions to clock around.
Apparently owl's seldom gather in a group.
They were given the name parliament due to their reputation as wise creatures.
In Australia the parliament sessions are broadcast as question time, on The Australian broadcasting corporation.
I have watched this several times, in the interest of keeping up to date and seeing what the publicly elected politicians are doing with regards to running the country.
I'm not sure a government of owl's is a fitting term to describe wise after watching these broadcasts.
These bloopers I obtained from YouTube. Should you have several hours to kill you can find lengthy coverage on YouTube.
You can obtain complete recordings of these sessions from the government link below.

Although I must prepare you to be grossly underwhelmed.
