H.R. GIGER was born in the city of Chur, Switzerland 1940. Giger grew up in a middle-class family. His father was a pharmacist in 1962 he went to Zurich to study industrial design and architecture. He was fascinated with dark and strange things, and later on, he founded his inspiration from magazine photos featuring Jean Cocteau's works and Salvador Dali. Giger produced his first artworks in 1964, it was mostly oil paintings and ink drawings. leading to his first exhibition in 1966. In 1968 Giger started his career as an artist and as a filmmaker, his first posters was published worldwide in 1969. In the years to come Giger had mastered freehand painting style, in addition to his great skills using the Airbrush, which had led to the creation of many of his famous and well-known artworks including the surrealistic Biomechanical dreamscapes.
