Hi Steemians, sharing with you today a watercolor portrait painting of an old man. Done on A4 paper and these are the process shots.

General pencil outline

Basic primary colors added for skin tone.

Darker browns and some blacks added.

Another watercolor layer to make the colors more vibrant.

Too washed out still so I decide to use ink for more contrast and darker areas.

I water the ink down as much as possible to make it look realistic.

Final piece with filter added to bring out colors. I liked the original but it was a bit too black in certain areas.
