I have always loved sunflowers they remind me of the human condition. Deeply rooted in earth's soil and yet best known for following the sun across the sky. Very much like we can comprehend the cosmos and partake in the noble odyssey of figuring out what the reason for consciousness is, and yet are rooted to our mortality. We are essentially food for worms doomed to hedonic adaptation. It's really kind of sad when you think about it. We have a brief moment in the sun where we are the universe able to comprehend itself then we move on and become other forms of matter and energy. Yet all we have done is make life a parody of itself both cynical and absurd.
