I still remember how devastating Tsunami that happened a few years ago, precisely on December 26, 2004. and at that time I was still at home with family because of vacation (week). When there is a tremendous thump 2 times and soon the big waves break everything. The tsunami damage that hit the northern coast of Aceh still leaves a trail. Not only was it still in mind, the tsunami also left traces of the monument. This monument is a warning to anyone how great the power of nature is the Tsunami.
One of them is a diesel powered monument (Diesel Power Plant) that floats in Punge Village, Blangcut, Banda Aceh. As the name implies, this ship is a source of electricity for the Ulee Lheue region - where the ship was tethered before the tsunami.
The vessel is capable of generating power of 10.5 megawatts. With an area reaching 1,900 square meters and weighing 2,600 tons, no one imagines this ship can move to the middle of Banda Aceh City.
When the tsunami occurred on December 26, 2004, the ship was dragged down by the tidal waves that shifted to the heart of Banda Aceh for 5 kilometers. This ship crashed into the middle of the housing community, not far from the Tsunami Museum.
Currently, the area around the PLTD Apung has been purchased by the government to be reorganized into educational tourism rides. To commemorate victims of the fall due to the tsunami, built a memorial monument. and around the monument, built walls with reliefs resembling flood waves. One of the silent witnesses of Aceh natural disaster (tsunami) is the ship of PLTD Apung.
Tonight I try to reflect on how great Tsunawi is through the painting of the Floating Ship of the PLTD. This is a picture of a sillent witness of Aceh Tsunami that occurred on 24 December 2004 ago.
