Substance Abuse

I have a problem. It's substance abuse.
I'm addicted to a substance
And the substance is You.

I aspire to make it on my own
--sober, independent--
I can be happy alone.

But I still feel the pain
Of Life's eternal Suffering
Which came with Knowledge gain.

Ignorant of your inevitable departure,
I rejoice in the emotion you unmask--
Making separation harder.

Any addict will tell you,
The Truth is
It's connection we Desire.
