Title: Who do you peel will win?
Medium: pen and ink on paper
Time: 2-3 hours
Art Process π¨
This is a very easy and short one. I thought that I really had to draw some corn art for the announcement of winners soon.
I thought of an interesting way to use corn in my drawing. Also, I used pen art to make it just 2d and flat in terms of coloring.
I created it a bit comic style, thick outlines, flat color and yes it can be cartoon style as well.
Although all the while i was thinking of a Japanese manga since it reminded me of something I saw in books a long time ago.
HERE ARE SOME PROCESS PICS
After all the inspiration I got from the contestants, I imagined a corn being poked and losing one of its pieces and then I thought of a banana, why? Maybe because they're similar.
- Yellow
- Healthy
- Peel it to eat it kind of thing?
To add, there's this essence of competition since this is for the easy mini art contest, they end up fighting in a fencing duel.
I also had some corn pictures since my dad bought some, so it helped me visualize how I was to draw tricky corn.
WIP pictures
In the first picture, the corns face looked a bit different then I decided it should look similar to B2. I changed it.
Also, the screenshots of the references I looked at.
- Drawing with references is okay! It helps!
- My corn picture has six rows of corn so I draw an oblong, the husk, then the lines, lastly the small circles and oblongs. See in this picture how it is? Okay!
I used many different pens, gelpens, metallic colored pens, felt tip pens.
Finally, the outcome.
