Dragons take everything to a whole new level. I can't quite put my finger on it, but these fantastic creatures seem to make most anything more interesting, almost right away. I wonder why that is.
This artwork is another panel from my just-released comic book, Silly Daddy Forever. The drawing started out as a simple pencil sketch of an ancient teapot shaped like a dragon. In fact, you can still see the holes in the teapot: one for the tea to be poured out at the fiery mouth of the dragon, and a hole at the tail, perhaps to pour the tea in. Then for the comic book, I turned it into a combination of reality and abstract art/design.
For those curious, the actual artifact that I drew of this dragon teapot is in Ayala Museum in Manila, Philippines.
