Hello all! It's been awhile and there's been some changes I see. Glad to have found Peakd and from what it looks like, seems better suited. I tried to cash out of steemit only to find out they switched exchanges. No more blocktrades. Looks like I can't withdraw or trade my steem out because those new exchanges don't support NYers. Oh well I guess.
Sorry for my rant, time to share my work.
Over the last year I've carved quite a few pieces so theres lots to share.
I carved this owl for a good customer in the beginning of the summer last year.
Here I'll share the beginning and the end, with a few cuts in between.
Started off with a log provided by the customer. A few cuts later and I found the shape I wanted.
Doesn't look like much yet but that changes pretty fast since I use a chainsaw. As long as it's sharp anyway, if not then it could be frustrating.
Here I am standing next to it after the majority of the saw work is done. It was just under 6ft tall.
Here's after minor detailing, using chisels and dremel to get to the areas the chainsaw couldn't reach. The talons and eyes mostly.
After burning with a torch, a little sanding then some paint.
Here is the completed project again. My customer was very happy.
